tSNet
Quantum Chamaeleon is proud to offer
tSNet, a distributed rendering tool, to the trueSpace community!
You now have the capability to take advantage of all of your computers
to reduce the time spent waiting for animations or large images
to finish rendering,
which in a commercial setting could mean a direct savings in total
production cost.
Whether using one render node, where
you can easily line up multiple scenes for batch processing, or
up to 20 for a tremendous speedup in animation rendering, the tSNet
system offers ease of use and gives you time statistics for each
finished scene as well as projected time remaining for each scene
as they are processed.
Besides distributing
individual frames of an animation, tSNet can also distribute
the rendering of still images across multiple machines running
trueSpace 6.5. Images may be divided into as many as sixty-four
pieces. Through this method, it is possible to create images
larger than trueSpace's maximum image size, 8K by 8K pixels.
Using tSNet the limit of 8K by 8K pixels applies to each section,
giving
the user a maximum render resolution of 64K by 64K, with the
exact limit varying with available memory.
While you are rendering, the render
preview window will display the frames for animations as they
are received, or for still images, the completed sections will
be displayed. tSNet
is capable of producing TGA, TIF, PNG, BMP, JPEG and AVI files.
When rendering a scene using external
resources such as texture maps, tSNet will in most cases transmit
the necessary files to each render node automatically.
Adding render nodes couldn't be easier.
With the click of a button, tSNet searches your local network
and identifies new render nodes. Computers
can even be added and removed during the course of rendering,
if
one suddenly
becomes
available
or one needs to be freed up for another purpose temporarily.
Using the included trueSpace launching
program it is even possible to have trueSpace automatically started
on all participating computers at a click of a button!
tSNet is designed to work with trueSpace
5.x, trueSpace 6.x, and trueSpace 7.
Available exclusively through
Caligari.
